"Financial literacy" festival in Buston city
Financial Literacy Festival Held in Buston city
As part of the Action Plan for the implementation of the Financial Literacy Enhancement Program for the Population for 2026–2030, the National Bank of Tajikistan organized the Financial Literacy Festival in the city of Buston on 25 June 2026.
The opening forum, held at the Palace of Culture in Buston, was attended by Daler Murodalizoda, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, and Firuza Nurullozoda, Chairperson of the City of Buston, who delivered opening remarks.
In their speeches, they emphasized that improving financial literacy is one of the key factors in ensuring the sustainable development of the banking system, strengthening public confidence in the financial sector, and expanding the country's payment infrastructure.
During the forum, specialists from the National Bank of Tajikistan, credit financial institutions, and insurance companies delivered educational presentations on current financial topics, including:
Online financial fraud and ways to prevent it;
Cashless payments and their safe use;
Loans for business and production development;
Property and motor vehicle insurance as a tool for financial protection;
Types of Islamic finance.
The forum also featured a financial literacy quiz, with winners and active participants receiving commemorative gifts.
The event brought together more than 300 participants, including representatives of government institutions, labor migrants, women, young people, school and vocational students, university students, and teachers.
The second part of the festival took place in the central square of Buston, where a Financial Services Exhibition was organized. Twenty-nine credit financial institutions and nine insurance companies showcased their financial products and services. Visitors received consultations on modern financial services, electronic wallet verification, payment card applications, and other financial products.
Such exhibitions help increase public awareness of financial services, encourage healthy competition among market participants, and improve the quality and accessibility of financial services.
The cultural program featured performances by local artists and interactive financial literacy quizzes, particularly for children under the age of 12. Winners were awarded commemorative prizes.
During the festival competitions, participants answered more than 30 questions covering key banking and insurance topics, including recognizing financial fraud, the legal consequences of acting as a money mule (dropper), the proper use of payment cards, the benefits of cashless payments, loans, deposits and savings, the national currency and its security features, as well as the importance of property and motor vehicle insurance.
In total, more than 3,000 residents and visitors of Buston took part in the various activities of the Financial Literacy Festival.
